WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners meets at 10 a.m. today (Monday) and will consider amendments to the 2021 county budget. Also on the agenda, commissioners will consider adopting the 2022 county property tax levies.
The four separate levies for 2022 cover the general/current expense, road tax, emergency medical services district, plus the general tax for veterans’ assistance and mental health and developmental disabilities services.
The board will also consider approving educational affiliation agreements between the county and Walla Walla Community College and as well as with Walla Walla University. The agreements will place Walla Walla Community College’s human and social services program students and Walla Walla University school of social work and sociology program students for practical learning experiences at the Walla Walla County Juvenile Justice Center.
Also on the agenda, commissioners will consider a resolution initiating $381,000 in a guardrail safety improvement project for the Bussell Bridge, Last Chance Bridge and Paul School Bridge. The project was selected to receive federal highway safety improvement project funds.
