WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution that sets weight limits on county bridges at its meeting this morning (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. The session is streamed live on the county website.

The move comes because National Bridge Inspection Standards require that the load-carrying capacity of every bridge be determined and any deficiencies that are found be corrected. Bridges must have weight limits posted by Dec. 31, 2022.

The board will also consider a resolution that allows organizers for the Walla Walla Onion Man Triathlon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 30 to use county roads for the event. The organizers have provided a certificate of insurance.

The roads that will be used are Reservoir Road from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office to North Tausick Way; from north Tausick to the Walla Walla Community College entrance on Isaacs Avenue; from the Isaacs Avenue bike path to Mill Creek Road; and then from 5 Mile Road. The course will then reverse.

Those who wish to listen to the meeting via telephone should call 408-418-9388 and enter the access code 146 784 0290.
