Commissioners look at SRO contract

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners meets at 10 a.m. today. One of the items on the agenda is a modification to the agreement that provides for a school resource officer.

The participants in the agreement are the county, Walla Walla Public Schools, and the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office. The change, due to schools beginning the school year with distance learning, will mean the sheriff’s office will only bill for the school resource officer when the SRO is actually present at Walla Walla High School. The modification will expire at this time next year.

Also on the agenda is using CARES Act funds to pay benefits for staff of the Walla Walla Community Health Department and an update on the fairgrounds.
