UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners is done with the budget for the coming fiscal year. Chairman John Shafer said the board held a public hearing on the proposed budget yesterday.
“We did adopt the budget and take action to appropriate funds and levy property taxes,” he said.
The vote on the spending plan was unanimous. The taxes are at the rate of just under $2.85 for every $1,000 of assessed values.
The budget for the fiscal year totals $132,498,421. Appropriations total $125,777,671. In addition to Wednesday’s public hearing at the board’s normal meeting time, the public was invited to sit in on the budget committee meetings in April.
