JOHN DAY – Grant County Commissioner Sam Palmer said there a few bills at the state level he’ll be testifying on. He mentioned one bill that tasked to him by Representative Mark Owens:
“Kind of the meat plant bills, where you don’t have to have your meat from the ranchers federally inspected; we could do it on a state level at a private butcher shop, and it doesn’t have to be marked ‘Not For Sale.’ It can be inspected locally, so, that’s one that we’ll be really fighting hard for.”
Commissioner Palmer said he’d keep us updated on the bill as it moves through the Oregon Legislature.
