JOHN DAY / PRAIRIE CITY – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)
The Malheur National Forest is implementing temporary bike trail closures on Magone Lake bike trails. These closures are for public safety during precommercial thinning operations. Magone Trail Closure Two 2025 (06-04-01-25-10) will be effective April 1, 2025 and will remain in effect until December 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
A temporary closure ensures the safety of the public during precommercial thinning operations.
Bike trail and trailhead closures:
· #5089, Porcupine Springs
· #5091, Phlo
· #5090, Pumphouse.
Closure signs will be posted on the ground, and a detailed map of the closure will be available on the Malheur National Forest website and at and Forest offices.
