Columbia River salmon and steelhead endorsement goes into effect Jan. 1

OLYMPIA – Starting Jan. 1,2026, Washington anglers age 15 and older must purchase a Columbia River salmon or steelhead endorsement to fish in designated waters. Costs range from $7.10 to $8.75.
Reinstated by the Washington Legislature to offset budget shortfalls, all revenue exclusively funds regional fisheries.
The requirement applies to salmon and steelhead; other species remain exempt from this specific fee.
