COLLEGE PLACE — A new 50-foot mural near the College Place Post Office celebrates the community’s sister city relationship with Jungapeo, Mexico.
Created by local artist Chloe Congleton, owner of Enable Art, the public artwork features native Pacific Northwest flowers alongside native Mexican species. The two floral styles surround a central bilingual message: “Community Grows Here / La Comunidad Crece Aquí.”
Congleton said that the project required nearly 50 hours of painting and involved volunteer assistance from residents, friends, and family.
The city of College Place supported the project’s vision following a $5,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation announced in October 2025. Congleton said that the total cost for the mural was $7,500 and her business provided the additional money. The funding from Wildhorse supported both the mural and a youth pen pal exchange program between the two communities.
