College Place to pursue evaluation of city’s court system

COLLEGE PLACE – Within the next month or so, staff with the city of College Place will ask the city council for permission to engage with the National Center for State Courts to evaluate the city’s court system.

College Place City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello explains that currently, the city contracts out to the Walla Walla County District Court.

“We want to understand if that’s in the best interest of everyone or would it make sense to bring it back in-house under the city purview,” he said.

Rizzitiello said that up until about 10 years ago, the city had its own court.
