UMAPINE โ Oregon State Police report a traffic stop of a driver who failed to maintain his lane of travel on Highway 332 ended with an arrest Friday night. When the stop was made, Mark Henry McGill refused to submit to a breath test according to the trooper, who said he had noted signs of impairment.
The trooper filed a warrant asking for the suspect to be tested. Itโs then reported that McGill asked to use his cell phone to call his lawyer. While on the phone, McGill called 911 and said he was being held against his will.
The suspect was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton where the warrant was served to determine McGillโs blood alcohol content. Meanwhile, the tow truck operator who was hauling off McGillโs vehicle called to report there was a concealed pistol in the car.
OSP reports McGill was booked into the Umatilla County Jail and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, improper use of 911, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
