COLLEGE PLACE – A College Place man faces felony harassment charges following an intoxicated late-night dispute with a neighbor, authorities said Thursday.
Jose Antonio Ramirez, 21, was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop after a multi-day investigation. Police say the incident began roughly a week ago when a neighbor confronted Ramirez over noise. Ramirez allegedly responded with threats, claiming he was armed and providing evidence of a firearm.
The victim recorded the encounter on a cell phone and contacted the College Place Police Department the following day. During a preliminary appearance in Walla Walla County Superior Court, a judge released Ramirez to his family’s home on his own recognizance. Conditions of his release include a strict curfew and a prohibition on possessing weapons or contacting the victim.
Ramirez is scheduled for arraignment on May 21.
