COLLEGE PLACE – The 2021 College Place budget is now in place as are documents planning for projects over the next six years. City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello said that citizens can expect major projects to get underway

The Meadowbrook Boulevard resurfacing project will get under way this spring. The work will be between Lampert and State Route 125.

The city has received a number of grants to help cover the cost of the southwest wastewater trunk line and lift station replacement. The construction will convey wastewater from all areas of the city south of 12th street to the College Place Wastewater Treatment Plant on Owens Road. Construction will begin later this month or early in February.

College Place will soon construct some stormwater system improvements around the Northwest Destito Court area. The work is designed to eliminate some pervasive flooding issues.

This spring the city will build sidewalks on the east side of Southwest Davis from Third to Whitman, on the west side of Southwest Bade between Fifth and 10th streets, and Southwest 12th from College to Bade. The project is funded by a Washington State Community Development Block Grant.

Another major project includes using funds form the city’s information technology plan to outfit College Place police officers with body cameras. The 15 cameras are expected to arrive in February or March.
