COLLEGE PLACE – A drug take-back event canceled last month at the College Place Walmart due to high winds has been rescheduled for this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be in the southeast corner of the Walmart parking lot.
Due to the pandemic all take-back items must be placed in the trunks of vehicles or the beds or pickup trucks. Volunteers will be standing by to grab the materials from the vehicles.
Take-back items include unused or expired drugs. Items not taken are oxygen containers, chemotherapy drugs, mercury thermometers, radioactive substances, and sharps mixed in with drugs. A dumpster will be available for household sharps and needles. A limited number of free med-lock boxes will also be available.
Price Computers will be on site to take discarded computers and other electronics for safe and secure disposal. Televisions and batteries will not be taken. Organizers said there will no shred truck at Sunday’s take back event and apologize for the inconvenience.
