COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council meets this evening (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. and will consider a motion to purchase a vacant lot for a public downtown parking lot.
The vacant lot is in the middle of the block bounded by Southwest Sixth Street to the north, Southwest Eighth Street to the south, Southwest College Avenue to the east, and Southwest Bade Avenue to the west.
City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello said early estimates are that the lot will accommodate about 50 parking spots.
If the council approves it, the city will purchase the lot from Jim McEwen and partners for $440,000, fair market value.
