COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council will meet tonight (Tuesday) to consider a series of infrastructure and planning initiatives, including a state-funded climate resilience project and critical well investigations.
Council members are expected to authorize a professional services agreement with J-U-B Engineers, Inc. to develop a Climate Resilience Sub-Element for the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The project is funded by a $150,000 Washington State Department of Commerce grant and will include a vulnerability assessment of local assets and a public “block party” open house.
In other business, the council will vote on a $294,757 change order for ESF Solutions to install curbs and gutters on 8th Street between Larch and Elm. Officials say the addition will manage stormwater runoff and prevent vehicles from driving onto private yards.
Additionally, the city may award $145,842 to Holt Services to investigate the casing of Well No. 3. The aging well is slated for a multi-million-dollar rehabilitation, and leaders want to ensure the structure remains viable before committing to full reconstruction.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at College Place City Hall.
