SECOND FLAT FIRE: The key objectives remain focused on tactical patrol and monitoring the perimeter. There is also a continued focus on suppression repair. Fire behavior remains minimal, with low fire activity observed across the Second Flat and Coleman Creek fire areas. Firefighters continue mopping up the north perimeter to confirm containment. Crews continue grading and repairing road systems on the east near Lone Pine Road and on the west side to restore and maintain road access following mop-up operations. As suppression repair progresses, excess heavy equipment will be gradually removed from the area.
COLEMAN CREEK FIRE: The key objectives remain focused on mop-up, perimeter patrol, and suppression
repair. Crews continue to patrol and monitor the Hwy 20 corridor to investigate any smoke reports made.
Firefighters continue to patrol the perimeter to look into potential hot spots detected from infrared imaging. Crews will continue fence repair and suppression rehabilitation activities along the Hwy 20 corridor. Suppression repair will begin in the interior of the fire off Shumway Road and Shumway Ranch Road.
WEATHER: As the upper ridge weakened on Sunday, high temperatures were about 3-5 degrees cooler than Saturday but still topped out in the low to mid 90s. Afternoon humidity fell to ~10%. Winds were a touch lighter but remained breezy, with afternoon gusts reaching 20-23 mph. Monday through the middle of the week will feature a continuation of the cooling and moistening trend, bringing improved temperatures, higher afternoon relative humidity, and better overnight moisture recovery. Winds will remain on the breezy side, with gusts reaching near 20 mph each afternoon.
