BEND (Released by Central Oregon Drug Enforcement)-On September 17th, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, in collaboration with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of Harvey Gonzales, age 35, of Bend.
On August 17th, 2024, Deschutes County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black 2006 Honda Civic on Hwy. 97 near mile post 113, in Deschutes County, near Terrebonne. There were two occupants in the vehicle. CODE Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for the vehicle.
CODE Detectives located a quantity of fentanyl powder, drug paraphernalia, and items associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics. Harvey Gonzales was a passenger in the vehicle, the drugs were located under his front passenger’s seat.
This overall investigation revealed that Harvey Gonzales was transporting fentanyl from the Portland, OR area to the Central Oregon area for distribution.
Harvey Gonzales was transported and lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail.
CODE Detectives were assisted by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office during this investigation.
Criminal complaints contain only charges; defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The Oregon-Idaho HIDTA program is an Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) sponsored counterdrug grant program that coordinates and provides funding resources to multi-agency drug enforcement task forces to disrupt or dismantle local, multi-state and international drug trafficking organizations.
