BAKER CITY – (Information from the Oregon State Police) At half past midnight on the morning of July 13, a rather violent crash occurred southeast of Baker City involving a commercial motor vehicle. Thankfully, and surprisingly, no one was reportedly injured. The Oregon State Police issued the following description of the incident:
“OSP responded to a single CMV crash that occurred near MP 321.5 I-84EB. The driver advised that he was eastbound when the left steer tire of his tractor blew out. The driver lost control and collided with a concrete barrier. The vehicle combo continued into the median where it came to an uncontrolled stop against a cable barrier. The tractor then caught fire and the tractor was completely burned. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle and was uninjured. Blue Mountain Towing will be removing the vehicle during daylight hours. The driver was given a courtesy ride to the Flying J in La Grande by OSP.
