PENDLETON – The deadline for discounted registration fees is fast approaching as the Pendleton Basketball Club brings pack the Clash at the Border for its 24th competition, after a three-year absence. The deadline for the reduced rate is Jan. 3, 2024. The tournament will be Feb. 3-4, 2024. Discounted room rates are also available at both Oxford Suites and the Radisson Hotel at the airport.

The tournament is for boys’ and girls’ AAU teams in the third through eighth grades.  It is a qualifier for the 2024 Oregon Middle School Basketball Championships for both girls and boys to be held in early March in Central Oregon.

Excellent playing surfaces, certified referees, and gifts and prizes for the winning teams in each division are offered. In the past, the Clash at the Border has hosted more than 80 teams. The number of teams registering will determine the locations of the games.

Early registration, either postmarked or placed online by Jan. 3 is $275 per team. After that registration goes up to $325. The proceeds from the tournament are used to cover the cost of hosting the tournament as well as benefiting local AAU teams and Pendleton High School basketball. The deadline for late registration is Jan. 22, 2024.
