Clearing A Hurdle: Baker track program sprints to success with $100,000 grant

BAKER CITY — (Release by Baker School District 5J) The Baker School District has received a $100,000 Pease Family Fund Grant to benefit the Bulldog Track and Field Program. 

Norman and Janet Pease recommended the Bulldog Track and Field program for the award, which will be used to update hurdles, as well as high jump and pole vault pads, in addition to uniforms and other equipment such as javelins, shots, and discs.

Head Track and Field Coach Suzy Cole says, “We are so grateful to Norm and Janet Pease. They have been regular participants in our Miners’ Jubilee fundraiser. It is so inspiring to have them in the events, and they have been so generous for so many years. Thanks to Norm and Janet, Baker City will continue to be the destination for track and field events for years to come.”
