BAKER COUNTY — Firewood is available to the public as a result of work that’s been done at the Hell’s Canyon Wayside. Baker County Parks reports that several poplar trees and one pine were cut from the corner of the park to increase safety for pilots taking off and landing at the Halfway Airstrip. Baker County Parks said whatever firewood is left in a few weeks will be burned by the county.

In addition, Baker County Parks announced the reopening of Hewett and Holcomb campgrounds along the Powder River arm of Brownlee Reservoir will take place March 20th—just in time for spring break.
