PENDLETON – The city of Pendleton is getting closer to improved water pressure to Airport Hill. The new reservoir and pump station is coming online. Meanwhile, work begins Tuesday of next week on demolishing the old pump station and tanks next to the Radisson Hotel.
“The contractor does not believe they’re going to have to close A Avenue in front of the hotel and in front of our storage facility,” Public Works Director Bob Patterson said. “Basically, they’re going to torch cut the reservoirs.”
Patterson said the demolition will take a few weeks. He believes final acceptance of the project will come in May.
The contractor will then begin work on connector lines from the water filtration plant west to Highway 11 to the Highway 30 connector road. That project is expected to be done by August. Meanwhile, the east end booster pump station project is already underway and is expected to be completed in May 2025.
