News release from the Pendleton Convention Center:

The Pendleton City Council on Tuesday approved a new contract with Pendleton Catering Company LLC that could extend the catering service for almost a decade.

“Pendleton Catering Company is providing incredible customer service and wonderful meals to our customers,” Pendleton Convention Center Manager Pat Beard said. “Pendleton Catering receives high marks from the meals they create for our customers and their events. Pendleton Convention Center can proudly promote Pendleton Catering Company.”

Pendleton Catering Company began in 2018 and took over the food service and catering contract at the Pendleton Convention Center in 2021 for 1 year. Since then, Pendleton Catering Company has broken every sales record the center tracks:  most gross sales in a month, most offsite sales in a month and most alcohol receipts in a month. Pendleton Catering Company is expected to surpass the annual sales records of $500,000 this year.

“It’s just been incredible. We’ve been so blessed,” said Pendleton Catering Company owner Missy Fairbank.  “I am really excited about being here and catering to Pendleton. We’re a local business, we hire local people, buy local products. I’m very proud and honored to be a part of Pendleton.”

The new three-year contract will end June 21, 2025, and can be extended twice after that date, giving Pendleton Catering Company the potential for a nine-year contract. Pendleton Catering Company by contract collects 15% commission on in-house catered events and 5 percent offsite, which is revenue source for the operation of the Convention Center.
