RICHLAND – (Release from the City of Richland)
Update: Richland water users. All 4 tests passed, the system and water quality is good. No more restrictions.
Previous: Customers of the City of Richland. Per previous notices to our customers, a tie into the city’s new water treatment system was made July 11, 2023. This tie in was required for the city’s new water treatment system now under construction. With that tie-in the City’s water supply was shut off. Once that tie in was complete the city flushed chlorinated water through the transmission line that conveys water to the city and took water quality samples. Unfortunately, one of two water quality samples came back noting that total coliform bacteria was present.
As a precaution to preserve the health of all our water system users and in coordination with Oregon Health Authority staff we are issuing a boil water notice until further water samples can be taken, and test results obtained. This will allow the water supply to be re-established and customers to resume using water for non-drinking purposes in their usual manner. However, prior to drinking the water please refer to and comply with the provisions noted in the attached boil water notice (see above) required by the Oregon Health Authority. The city will update customers as soon as water quality sample results are obtained that show the water quality meets all federal drinking water standards. This is effective as of 8 a.m. Friday morning, July 14. We appreciate your patience in this process.
