City of La Grande Announces Summer Beautification Awards

LA GRANDE– (Release from La Grande Parks and Recreation) Is there a yard in town that you admire? Or a business with great green space? Submit a nomination for the Beautification Awards Program. The Beautification Awards Program is sponsored by the La Grande Community Landscape and Forestry Commission and recognizes outstanding residential and commercial landscaping. Award criteria includes:
- the integration of color, texture and seasonal diversity
- the creative use of available space, hardscape and landscape conditions
- landscaping that promotes resource conservation, wildlife habitat and/or food production.
The Awards Program recognizes landscaping of homes and businesses that can be seen from the street within the La Grande urban growth boundary. Send the street address to trees@cityoflagrande.org, or call 541-663-1952. The deadline for the summer nominations is July 25th.
