JOHN DAY – The John Day City Council met Tuesday night at the John Day Fire Hall. City Manager Nick Green was on KJDY’s Coffee Time earlier in the day, and highlighted their discussion regarding the restructuring of City Hall:
“We had twenty-four employees in five departments when I first started in 2016, so, about 5 years ago. We’re going to be down to three departments and sixteen staff; so, a much leaner footprint. We’re going to have a big chunk of our work in Public Works, but we’re also going to have a Community Development Department and a Public Safety Department.”
Green said they will “roll out the official reorganization starting November 1st.” He noted the matter will be discussed in further detail at the November 9th John Day City Council meeting.
