JOHN DAY – Melissa Bethel, John Dayโ€™s City Manager, was in KJDY Studios Monday and gave listeners a progress report on the wastewater treatment plant project that is underway. She said the design phase is 70 โ€“ 90% complete, and the work continues:

โ€œIt is going. We are not stopping. We just did a bid approval for our S.B.R. equipment, which is the motorโ€”the engineโ€”of the plant, and so we have that secured and we are trucking along.โ€

Bethel said in total, the project is estimated at $35 million-and-upward. The city recently had to undergo price hikes with their sewer and water rates.
