JOHN DAY – The John Day City Council recently approved a land exchange with the Grant County Library Foundation. City Manger Green explained a little on Coffee Time:

“The council passed a resolution approving a land exchange. We’ll get an acre—their acre—on Canton across from Kam Wah Chung for parking. They’re going to get about two-and-a-half acres from the city along the riverfront that’s out of the flood plain, at the base of Davis Creek Park to build the new library. We’ve already applied for some funding for them to construct it, and if that’s awarded, they will be able to go into construction by the end of the year.”
