HINES(Released from City of Hines)-The City of Hines would like to remind residents of municipal code requirements related to keeping animals within city limits. These regulations are in place to promote public safety, maintain neighborhood quality, and ensure responsible animal ownership.
Under City code, residents may keep up to 10 chickens, however roosters are not permitted within city limits due to noise concerns. In addition, households are limited to three dogs.
Residents wishing to keep livestock, including chickens and fowl, must obtain the appropriate livestock permit in accordance with City regulations. This helps ensure that animals are properly managed and that properties remain compliant with health and zoning standards.
The City also reminds residents that dogs must be kept under control at all times, Dogs found at large may be subject to impound, and owners may incur impound fees in addition to municipal violation fines.
Violations of the City’s animal regulations may result in a $250.00 municipal fine, not including any additional fees associated with enforcement actions such as impoundment.
