LA GRANDE – The City of La Grande will be flushing the City’s fire hydrants to rid the distribution system of sediment deposits that have accumulated over the past year. Currently the flushing is scheduled to begin on June 14th, and will continue until all the hydrants have been tested.
Some businesses and residence may encounter some cloudy water (commonly described as looking dirty) during the testing. It is suggested that cold water run for a period of 10 to 15 minutes, if possible from an outside faucet. The Public Works Department says this usually clears up the issue. Any questions contact the La Grande Public Works Department at (541) 962-1325.
