City hires new finance director

MILTON-FREEWATER – Dustin Dougherty will join the city of Milton-Freewater as the new finance director. Dougherty will replace David Richmond who has led the finance department for nearly 20 years and is retiring soon.

Most recently, Dougherty has worked as a member of the audit team and served as a staff accountant for The RBH Group in Pendleton. He has also worked as an accounting supervisor for the city of Pendleton.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Dustin join our city team. He brings a wealth of practical experience to our city and his educational background is a perfect fit,” City Manager Linda Hall said. “I am so grateful for all the years of dedication and exemplary service that Dave Richmond has given to our city. While he certainly leaves very big shoes to fill, I believe Dustin is up to the challenge.”

Dougherty’s first day on the job will be Sept. 20.
