ENTERPRISE, OR – Since the Oregon Department of Forestry has begun fire season due to the warm and dry conditions around eastern Oregon, the Emergency Services Director of Wallowa County and the City of Enterprise, has announced the city will not be issuing or allowing any backyard fire permits. This is to prevent human-caused fires. This ban is in effect until further notice. Anyone with any questions is asked to call the City Hall.
While Union County hasn’t gone into a regulated fire season just yet, it could begin earlier than the July 1st date set within county ordinance. Properties within the La Grande Rural Fire Protection district that are dual protected, will need to follow the most stringent guidelines set forth by either ODF or county ordinance.
