PENDLETON – A host of road projects are on tap for Pendleton this summer. Public Works Superintendent Jeff Brown says crack sealing is well underway and slurry seal work is not far behind.
“We look to see that starting here before too long,” he said. “We’ve got, if my count is right, 37 segments that we’re doing.”
Slurry seal and crack seal are important for maintenance of the roads, Brown said. Meanwhile, major work is also planned that will probably start next month. The city council is supposed to award the bid for overlay projects at its May 17 meeting.
“I think we’ve got about nine segments already that they’re going to repave, and then we’ve got six streets that are going to get a full reconstruct,” Brown said. Complete lists of the city’s various street projects are posted at https://pendleton.or.us/projects. Click on the work to be done and then select List of Project Streets. Once the overlay bid is approved it will be added to the page.
