City Elgin reporting phone impersonation scam

ELGIN – Elgin Residents should be aware of potential scam calls attempting to impersonate city staff. On November 19, the City of Elgin was made aware of a scam caller claiming to be from the city administrator’s office. Residents are reminded that any calls from the Elgin City Administrator will ring from the city’s primary phone number at 541-437-2253. Anyone who receives a suspicious call or believes someone may be attempting to impersonate the city is asked to contact city hall.
