WALLA WALLA – The city of Walla Walla is scheduling two tire amnesty collection events next month. Officials have launched a short survey on the city’s website to help in planning the events.

The three-question survey should only take a few minutes to complete. Residents are asked if they have junk tires they want to dispose of for free, how many tires they have, and if they have the ability to transport the tires to a central location.

The events are scheduled for Saturday, April 24 at the City Service Center on East Moore Street and for Sunday, April 25 at the Walmart parking lot in College Place.

There are three rules governing the tire recycling events. One is that only households, not businesses, can participate. The second rule is only up to 15 tires per resident can be accepted. The third is that semi-truck tires will not be accepted.

The survey will be active until March 19.
