City and county to hold joint work session

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council and the Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will gather for a joint work session today (Monday) at 4 p.m. at Walla Walla City Council Chambers, 15 N. Third Ave.

On the agenda, there will be an update on the expansion project at the Sleep Center and a discussion of the existing contract with the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health which expires Dec. 31.

There will also be a project and funding update on the 911 WESCOM/emergency operations center proposed move, plus a discussion of complaints pertaining to fireworks in both the Walla Walla city limits and the county.

Further items up for discussion include growth management and annexations, a program overview and discussion on current funding sources, possible expanded coverage for the community paramedic program, and a behavioral health study. The joint work session will wrap up with a discussion on community health funding from the city of Walla Walla.
