COVE & ENTERPRISE – The Oregon Department of Transportation recently announced the recipients of the 2025 Small City Allotments Program. This is an annual fund provided each year to cities across Oregon with populations under 5,000 to help expand or repair roadways that are not part of the state highway system.
In total, twenty-four projects were selected across the state to receive a combined $5,735,959 in funding for 2025. Of these, five cities were selected in ODOT region 5 (which comprises the entirety of Eastern Oregon) including both Cove in Union County and Enterprise in Wallowa County. Both cities will receive $250,000 dollars each to help with local roadway projects. In total, Region 5 received a combined $1,500,000 in grants for 2025.
ODOT will now begin working with the recipient cities to draft grant agreements and fully develop the project descriptions. ODOT also announced that the application period for the next round of Small City Allotment grants will run earlier in 2025 than previous periods. For any municipalities looking to apply for funding, the application period will run from March 3 to April 30, 2025.
