It’s not too late to get your Christmas tree permit. Cutting down your own tree is the perfect way to create a memorable holiday experience, share a special tradition with family and friends, and help maintain a healthy forest.

Malheur National Forest Christmas tree permits are available online at www.recreation.gov. From the website, search ‘Malheur National Forest Christmas tree permit’. Through the online program, permits are $5.00 per tree, with a maximum of 5 permits per household. There is a service fee of $2.50 per order.

Permits can also be purchased at Malheur National Forest offices for $5.00 each with the same maximum of 5 permits per household.

Be sure to read and agree to all tips and guidelines when selecting your tree. Check weather and road conditions before leaving home and prepare for emergencies.
