UMATILLA & MORROW COUNTIES – Oregon Supreme Court Chief Justice Martha Walters is in Morrow and Umatilla counties today. Commissioner Dan Dorran said she is touring the Sixth Circuit Court’s facilities. Dorran is currently exploring future improvements that could be made in the Umatilla County courthouses.
“It’s not often that the chief justice gets out to Eastern Oregon,” he said. “The timing’s perfect.”
Dorran made it clear that he’s not hosting the tour. He’s a guest.
“It’s Presiding Judge Dan Hill’s tour,” he said. “I was lucky enough to get invited and participate in any minimal way that I can. It’s exciting and Eastern Oregon should be happy that someone like Chief Justice Martha Walters is taking the time to visit out here and tour the facilities.” Walters will visit the courthouses in Heppner, Hermiston, and Pendleton.
