CHD opening new Outreach Center in La Grande

UNION COUNTY — (Release from CHD) Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:00-6:00PM you are invited to the Center for Human Development’s (CHD) Outreach Center Grand Opening at 2206 Jefferson Ave, La Grande, OR. Join us for a ribbon cutting with the Union County Chamber of Commerce at 4:00PM. Guests will have an opportunity to meet the staff, take a tour, learn about resources in the community, and take home a Narcan swag bag!
The CHD has a longstanding history of providing for the physical and mental health needs for Union County residents. Thanks to newly acquired grant funding, CHD looks to expand services to help those who have Behavioral Health (substance use and/or mental health diagnosis) needs.
CHD’s history of providing treatment and services for those with addictions and mental health diagnoses has included screening and assessments, therapy, peer support, case management, Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT), NARCAN distribution and training. Because of this history, we can help meet clients’ needs while building trusting relationships which are vital for healthy treatment outcomes.
“We understand that drug addiction is wreaking havoc in our communities. The opioid crisis is widespread and growing. CHD is expanding outreach, harm reduction and low barrier screening and we are providing tools to help combat the effects and address the needs of individuals who are experiencing addiction and mental health issues,” Lisa Whipple, BHRN Coordinator at CHD.
CHD is a private, not-for-profit health organization located in La Grande, Oregon. CHD provides addictions and mental health services, intellectual/developmental disabilities services, public health services, and veterans services to the residents of Union County.
