Changes to groundwater permitting in Seneca

SENECA – (Press Release from the Oregon Water Resources Department)

The Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) will host a community meeting on August 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to share upcoming changes to groundwater permitting in Seneca and parts of Grant County located within the Harney Basin. This meeting will cover the tools OWRD uses to manage groundwater, OWRD’s vision for improving the groundwater situation in the overall basin, and how the community can stay informed as the process continues. This overall process is also referred to as “rulemaking”, and an explanation of what that includes will be covered in the meeting as well.


The meeting will be held at the Seneca Elementary School gym and will include presentations by OWRD staff as well as a Q&A session for the public to ask questions and share their thoughts. The community is encouraged to attend this meeting.
