DAYTON, Washington – The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is beginning to receive replacements for its aging fleet of patrol vehicles. The old Ford patrol vehicles will be replaced by new, white Dodge Durango models, specifically built for law enforcement.
Six of the vehicles were acquired through a lease program last year, but the new vehicles did not start arriving until now due to a parts supply issue which affected the entire automobile industry.
Three vehicles have been delivered, with three more yet to come. They will replace six older vehicles, some of which have over 200,000 miles on them.
