PRAIRIE CITY – Travelers can expect high water on U.S. Highway 26 just west of Prairie City. Signs are in place and motorists should proceed with caution. Find a press release from ODOT below:

Travelers around the state can expect to see high water as warm temperatures, rain and melting snow fill ditches, creeks and rivers. High water is a concern around the state and reports of flooding are coming in from Grant County on U.S. 26.
Other highways and roads may also be impacted by flooding. Take your time, slow down and drive with caution. You never know what might be around the next corner. If you come to an area of high water, stop. If you cannot see the road, turn around. Don’t drive through the water. Watch for fallen trees and rocks that may come loose during the rain and flooding.
Heavy rain and melting snow also create conditions more conducive to slides. Travelers should be aware of slide dangers, particularly along the Oregon Coast where slides have been a recurring problem.
