Cash, presents stolen from state DCYF office

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Police Department reports officers responded to the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families office at 206 West Poplar Street Thursday morning for a reported theft. Officers were told someone came into the building and took wrapped presents and some cash that was donated and left.

The presents that were stolen were purchased through the “Giving Tree” program. The Walla Walla Police Foundation has since stepped in to assist in getting everything back to DCYF.

The Walla Walla Police Department is seeking information on the person(s) responsible for stealing the presents and cash. Anyone who has information can call WWPD at 509-527-1960.
