BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker School District) Casey Hallgarth Named Next Superintendent of Baker School District 5JAt their regular monthly meeting this evening, the Baker School District Board named
Casey Hallgarth the new Superintendent of Baker School District 5J starting next school
year.
Mr. Hallgarth is currently the Superintendent of Prairie City School District #4 in Prairie City,
OR, a position he has held since July of 2018. Previously, he was a sixth grade teacher for
Grant School District #3 from August 2014 through June 2018.
Mr. Hallgarth will replace Erin Lair, who has been Superintendent of Baker School District
since July 2022.
“Erin Lair has led the District well these past two years,” says Board Chair Julie
Huntington. “We wish her well as she passes the baton to Mr. Hallgarth, and we are
excited to continue the work of Baker School District helping our students to reach their
highest potential and our community to thrive under this new leadership.”
“I grew up in rural Eastern Oregon,” says Mr. Hallgarth. “The opportunity to serve the
Baker community in the role of District Superintendent is an honor, and I’m looking
forward to making this my family’s home and giving my best to this school district!”
