JOHN DAY – The 29th The Carrie Young Memorial will take place on the first Friday of December. The event raises money for the local senior citizens in Grant County—providing relief for those who may need some help with their living expenses. Foundation President Lucie Immoos said they’re collecting donations now and starting to gear up for it:
“This year it’s December 3rd, and our plan is to have it at the John Day Elks Lodge again. Doors open at 5, I think dinner starts at 5:30—I need to firm that up with my sister, but we’re ready to shift gears if we have to.”
Last year, the event was a radio auction on KJDY, and they generated around $49,000 for local senior citizens in need.
Immoos and crew are gladly accepting donations from businesses or individuals. Folks with items to donate can call Lucie at (541) 620-2098 or email laimmoos@gmail.com.
