Carrie Sullivan is the new Seneca Elementary Head Teacher

SENECA – Grant School District #3 has announced that Carrie Sullivan has been chosen for the Head Teacher role at Seneca Elementary School. Mrs. Sullivan was the Regional Teacher of the Year in 2022 at Dayville School. Find GSD#3’s full press release below:

Grant School District #3 is excited to announce Carrie Sullivan as our Head Teacher of Seneca Elementary School.
Mrs. Sullivan brings a breadth of experience to her new position. She joined the Humbolt Elementary staff as a teacher in 2023 after serving in the Dayville School District since 2011. She has been awarded the Grant ESD 2022 Teacher of the Year! Her background is especially strong in the facilitation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to engage students in project based learning.
“Carrie Sullivan is an enthusiastic teacher with vast experience in multi-grade, project based learning. She led Humbolt students to compete in the state championship for Oregon Battle of the Books last year. She has a passion for science and rural schools and has a unique capacity to build strong relationships with students and families,” said Principal Janine Attlesperger.
“When working with rural schools, projects centered on agriculture and involving the community are where the opportunity to build student engagement begins,” Carrie Sullivan explains. “While students are thinking, creating, and having fun, sometimes they don’t even realize how much they are learning,” she said. “They love to use that knowledge to create something meaningful, something that they can be proud of.”
“Mrs. Sullivan’s background in project-based learning combined with her love of students will allow the students at Seneca Elementary to thrive. She also recognizes the strong history of community involvement and support for Seneca Elementary School. I am truly excited for the future at Seneca Elementary under the leadership of Carrie Sullivan,” said Superintendent Mark Witty.
