PRINCETON, OR- Yesterday approximately 1:44pm members of the Oregon State Police, Burns Fire Department, Harney District Ambulance and the Harney County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an injury motor vehicle crash on HWY 78 near mile post 37.9.
All Four occupants, Delilah Atterbury of Moses Lake Washington, James Atterbury, Leonna Atterbury of Moses Lake Washington, and Ellen Ledbetter of Moses Lake Washington were entrapped and had to be extradited. All four occupants were subsequently transported to the Harney District Hospital with serious injuries.
From the evidence at the scene and the statements it appears that the Blue Nissan Xtr was east bound on HWY 78 approaching the intersection of Lava Bed Rd. James Atterbury misread the sign on which road to take to Nevada. James initially started to take a right hand turn onto Lave Bed Rd, then determined he Needed to stay on HWY 78. James Atterbury overcorrected as he entered a gravel area at the intersection and lost control. The Nissan rolled at lease one time before coming to an uncontrolled rest on the driver’s side.
