CANYON CITY – The City of Canyon City is in an infrastructure improvement phase, according to City Recorder Paula Bartley. She said the biggest project underway will be the update to their 20-year water plan:
“We’re looking at total water line replacement from our spring up at Byram Gulch all the way to our reservoir, and then a new reservoir.
The State of Oregon is heavily involved in getting us grant money to get all that done. At the end of the day we’ll have a new filtration system, we’ll improve on our already great water, a big new reservoir, and new water lines. Our originals are 1930s.”
Bartley said construction on that project should begin next year. The City of Canyon City meets every 3rd Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Hall.
