Cannell wins Winter Classic

HERMISTON – Hermiston High School’s Nadalie Cannell won the 2024 Oregon Golf Association Winter Classic, taking the crown for the second year in a row. It wasn’t easy. The high school senior faced weather that ran the gamut the Bandon Dunes Golf Course on the Oregon coast.

Her father, K.C. Cannell reported that it the weather was great for the first seven holes. Then it was raining hard and sometimes sideways through the eighth hole. After that, things calmed with only some scattered showers. Winds remained high throughout.

She finished one-over-par at 73, taking the win. In 2023 she won the classic by the same score on a different course in Bandon.
